Mwojjo Alliance group donate to Buyende victims

Local charity group Mwojjo Alliance has donated items worth shs.10 million to the residents of Buyende district who lost their properties, lives and other injured following a deadly rainstorm this month.

The storm ravaged the villages of Kabugudo, Nabweyo, and Nakabembe in Kidera town council.

According to local media, the storm swept away more than 200 homes forcing residents to seek shelter in nearby churches, hospitals and shelters set by local leaders.

The C.E.O of Mwojjo Alliance Ms. Prossy Mwajjuzi said that this was just the beginning of a long-term gesture in helping those in need especially the people of Buyende District as part of their Social Responsibility towards their communities.

Ms. Prossy further comforted the victims of Buyende and promised to stand with them in all times of need for the wellbeing of the community as they recover from their tragic loss.

“We shall continue to stand together with you our brothers and sisters. And, we pray that God continues to protect you.” She said.

Local leaders including the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kamuli District, and Baba TV/Radio thanked Mwojjo Alliance for always standing together to support the community and asked God to always bless them as they further their work.

On his part, the Katikiro of Busoga thanked the charity group and urged victims to stay strong and united because further help will be provided.  He pledged to help the Muslim community finish the roofing of the destroyed mosque at Nakabembe zone A.

Items donated included scholastic materials, food, clothes, shoes, saucepans, cups, plates, mosquito nets and so on

Mwojjo Alliance Buyende is a social charitable group which aims at carrying out community-based activities, medical out reaches, youth empowerments through provision of skills, and general voluntary services to the needy communities in Buyende District.
