Million Trees National Initiative Uganda (MTNi-Ug) launches it’s green activities in Rukungiri District at Rukungiri District Headquarters

MTNi-Ug is abroad based Organization that also improve Household income, Food Security and Agro-industrialization by donating short term plants like Vegetable seeds, Organic fertilizers and pesticides to peasants, Fruit plant Seedlings for Agroforestry in Uganda.

Million Trees National Initiative Uganda (MTNi-Ug) launches it’s green activities in Rukungiri District on 8th April 2021 at Rukungiri District Headquarters. Following the need to increase Uganda’s forest cover that has reduced from 24%(1990) to 9%(2018) to 12.4% now, locally based NGO, MTNi-Ug is tirelessly launching and growing trees countrywide under it’s One Constituency One Million Trees Campaign. It’s on Thursday,8th April 2021, the Organization started it’s activities of growing trees around hilly lands of Nyarushanje, Nyakyishenyi in Rukungiri District. Working hand-in-hand with Rukungiri District Forestry team, the Organization is growing Bamboo tree seedlings around River Catchment areas of River Minera, Kahengye and Bitano to preserve and protect these rivers from Drying out and Siltation.

Under My Tree-My Fruit Drive, school heads, Religious leaders and farmers will grow these fruits for Household income empowerment, Food Security and Green job Creation.
Million Trees National Initiative Uganda (MTNi-Ug) donates and grows Indigenous Tree seedlings like Bamboo, Terminelia ssp, Bruvelia, Afrizeria, Wabujia, Prunus Africana to Communities, schools,holy places, along roadsides and Gov’t public lands
Under Million Trees National Initiative Uganda (MTNi-Ug), we donate short term plants like Vegetable seeds, Fruit plants and Cash crops to peasants basically to improve Household income, Food Security and Creating Green jobs for Youths.
A plantation of Cabbages owned by youths in Ibanda District…..all seeds, Organic fertilizers and pesticides were donated by MTNi-Ug around October 2020.
