ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia
The daughter of US President and Senior presidential advisor Ivanka Trump has paid her tribute to the victims of Ethiopian Airlines 302 who perished last month just six minutes after takeoff in the capital Addis Ababa. She laid a wreath to mourn the dead at the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
A total of 157 passengers and crew members who were on board the grounded Boeing 737 Max were killed in the crash.
The first daughter is in Ethiopia to meet with the heads of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative that aims to train women worldwide to help them get well-paying jobs by 2025.
She will also visit the Ivory Coast to attend a women’s economic empowerment summit.
During her visits to both countries, she will meet with religious leaders, political leaders, executives and female entrepreneurs and also visit key sites.
Along with her is USAID Administrator Mark Green and Acting OPIC President and CEO Dave Bohigian.
