Israel Trade Gap Narrows in December

The trade deficit in Israel shrank to USD 2,992.6 million in December of 2020 from USD 3,082.6 million in the corresponding month of the previous year. Exports jumped 14.2 percent from a year earlier to USD 4,598.8 million while imports climbed at a softer 6.8 percent to USD 7,591.4 million. Considering full 2020, the country’s trade gap narrowed to USD 20,177.7 million from USD 23,799.5 million, as imports slumped 8.2 percent while exports fell at a slower 5 percent.
