Israel bombs four Hamas buildings in Gaza

TEL AVIV, Israel

The Israeli military aircraft has bombed four Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip, hours after two rockets were launched from the Palestinian enclave at Tel Aviv. It is the first attack of such nature 2014 war.

According to the Israeli army, the bombing aimed at targeting terror sites in Gaza that jeopardise security. But no casualties were recorded because the buildings had been evacuated as a precaution.

Witness accounts revealed that they saw powerful explosions in Gaza from the targeted buildings, and also confirmed no casualties.

However, Hamas, the Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees, and two smaller Gaza armed factions all denied any involvement in the rocket bombings.

Speaking on a local radio station in Israel, the military spokesman Brigadier-General Ronen Manelis said that they were surprised at the attacks and don’r know who carried it out.

He said: “We don’t know who carried it out. The Hamas organisation is the main organisation in the Strip. It is responsible for what happens within the Strip and what emanates from it.”
