I studied everybody I nominated to Cabinet – Museveni

“I surprised you with my fishermen,” Museveni said attracting laughter from Members of Parliament (MPs) who converged at Kololo ceremonial grounds for the parliamentary third sitting and reading of the national budget today (June 10).

President Yoweri Museveni has said that he fully studied everyone he nominated to Cabinet, adding that he surprised many with his appointments.

“I surprised you with my fishermen,” Museveni said attracting laughter from Members of Parliament (MPs) who converged at Kololo ceremonial grounds for the parliamentary third sitting and reading of the national budget today (June 10).

Ntenjeru North MP, Amos Lugolobi, who is also the newly-appointed finance state minister in charge of planning, read the national budget, before the President addressed the MPs.

On June 8, President Museveni released a list of the appointed new Cabinet ministers in which he made Maj. (rtd)

The 47-year-old Katakwi woman Member of Parliament replaced Edward Sekandi as the vice president. The President also appointed Robinah Nabbanja as the Prime Minister.

Rebecca Kadaga, who was defeated by Oulanyah for the post of speaker of parliament, was appointed the first deputy prime minister and minister for East African Community Affairs.

Gen. Moses Ali is the second deputy premier, while Lukia Nakadama is third deputy premier and minister without Portfolio.

Thomas Tayebwa, who pulled out of the deputy speakership race for Anita Among, was appointed government chief whip.

Renowned city lawyer, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, was named the Attorney General, while former NTV journalist Agnes Nandutu is the state minister for Karamoja affairs in the office of the Prime Minister.
