Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris condemned the Trump administrations environmental record on Wednesday night, and lamented that the current administration “don’t believe in science” or the “existential threat” posed by the climate crisis.
The Republican vice president, Mike Pence, meanwhile denied those accusations as social media users cheered a fly seen sitting on his head during the debate.
Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee, used the distraction to urge supporters to “Pitch in $5 to help this campaign fly”.
