Gone to soon: Burundi football star dies at 28

Burundian professional association football player Papy Faty has died of suspected heart failure at the age of 28.

The star collapsed only about 15 minutes on the pitch while playing for local team Melanti Chiefs against Green Mamba in Piggs Peak town in north-western eSwatini.

He was declared dead on arrival to the hospital.

Friends, fans and family members sent in their condolences and said that they have not only lost a son but a great citizen to the nation.

They described him as a God fearing, loving , kind and caring person.
