Four journalists have shown interest to the battle for the Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) elections slated for the 12th Saturday 2020, despite financial challenges to organizing the elections.

Daily Monitor’s Lubowa Abubaker

Among the contestants is Daily Monitor photo journalist Lubowa Abubakar, Vision group journalists Rukundo Mathias, Kasule Farouq and Kasasa Moses.

This year’s elections have been greatly covered by the on-going presidential elections in Uganda but sources close to the current UJA administration disclosed to kmaupdates that they have finalized everything needed to conduct free and fair polls during the weekend.

New Vision’s Mathias Rukundo

“We request members to prepare for elections, crosscheck their names in the register in time to avoid complaints on the voting day,” says Mr. Kiyimba  Richard UJA administrator.

Stiff competition is between Mr Lubowa Abubakar and Rukundo Mathias.
