Five killed and 17 police officers in DR Congo post-election clashes

KINSHASA, Democratic Republic of Congo

At least five people have been killed and seventeen police officers injured in the DR Congo post election clashes following the announcement of Opposition leader Felix Tshisekedi as President.

The second runner up Martin Fayulu however, disputes the election results as fraud and has sworn to challenge the results in court.

The Catholic Church, which is very influential in DR Congo, has also doubted the election results. The UN Security Council is due to discuss the Congolese election
