Uganda is reporting 60 new infections on average each day, 8% of the peak having had the highest daily average reported on December 11, 2021.
There have been 42,779 infections and 347 Covid-19 related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began.
Uganda has administered at least 430,301 doses of COVID vaccines so far. Suppose every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 0.5% of the country’s population. During the last week reported, Uganda averaged about 6,501 doses administered each day. At that rate, it will take a further 1,362 days to administer enough doses for another 10% of the population.
As COVID-19 infections began to be reported around the world, many countries responded by shutting down places like schools, workplaces and international borders in order to contain the spread of the virus. There is no one perfect statistic to compare the outbreaks different countries have experienced during this pandemic
