Kenya has had a total of 336 coronavirus cases. It leads her neighbours in the number of Covid-19 cases that have been reported in the region.

The main method being applied around the globe to fight the virus is social distancing. This has been difficult to achieve and most countries have been forced to lockdown.

Uganda is under lockdown but since they are landlocked, they have been forced to continue getting essential goods from the port of Mombasa.

Mombasa in Kenya is one of the counties most affected by the virus especially those working at the port. This has led the government to place it under lockdown.

But Uganda is still able to get its goods. This has led to exportation of the virus to Uganda.

So far Kenya has exported 10 cases to her neighbours with seven of them going to Uganda and three to Rwanda.

There is a serious spike in numbers in Uganda and soon the president will be forced to shut down the border completely.

The Ugandan Minister of Internal Affairs, General Odongo Jeje, has expressed concern over truck drivers entering Uganda from Kenya. Most of them have tested positive.
