The M-Sport Ford World Rally Team (WRT) today revealed for the first time a prototype of the new Puma Rally1 rally car that will help usher in an exciting new era of electrified competition in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) from 2022. While NASCAR is pretty much an American exclusive phenomenon, rallying is popular just about everywhere else on the planet. For the 2022 edition of the FIA World Rally Championship, Ford is preparing a brand new contendor along with its partners at M-Sport, the Puma Rally1 with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain. WRC Estonia: Evans missing 100% confidence to “compete”

Estonia, FIA, Motorsport, Sports, WRC
Elfyn Evans has explained his deficit to the Rally Estonia podium positions is down to a lack of confidence admitting he is not "feeling 100%" comfortable. The championship contender has struggled to match the pace of his Toyota teammates, rally leader Kalle Rovanpera and fourth-placed Sebastien Ogier, which has left him almost two minutes adrift of the lead in fifth. Evans made a costly mistake on Friday's second stage when he overshot two junctions and stalled the car losing 12 seconds in the process. Since then the Welshman has struggled to recover and has now fallen adrift of the top four. Last year's championship runner-up admitted he wasn't clicking with his Yaris on the fast and flowing gravel stages on Friday. Evans offered an honest assessment of his situation dur...

Tanak was running strongly when his Pirelli tyre appeared to delaminate, ripping bodywork from the front of his i20 halfway through the 17.05km stage. The Estonian managed to reach the end of the test but lost his lead and dropped to seventh overall after losing more than 20s to stage winner Kalle Rovanpera. FIA, Motorsport, RACING, Sports, WRC
Škoda Fabia Rally2 star Andreas Mikkelsen is hoping that luck will be on his side at this week’s Rally Estonia (15 - 18 July). Mikkelsen currently tops the WRC2 standings halfway through the season, but misfortune in recent events has slowed his progress. A win in Monte-Carlo was followed by a podium on Arctic Rally Finland, however the Norwegian suffered suspension damage in Croatia and retired from Rally Italia Sardegna after a roll.  Recent European Championship outings on similar terrain in Poland and Latvia have left Mikkelsen feeling quietly confident about his chances in Tartu.  “These two events were a good warm-up for Rally Estonia with its fast and smooth gravel stages,” he explained.   “I finished second overall here in 2019, when the rally was held...
