Uganda Red Cross Society launches a shs-235bn five year strategic plan

The Uganda Red Cross Society has launched a five-year strategic plan peddled aimed at consolidating financial, institutional sustainability and service delivery in the country. The Shs235 billion strategic plan is premised on the unit cost of executing the various focus areas which include Information and technology (IT) systems. Uganda's first Deputy Prime Minister Gen. For close to two years, Doreen Ataro lived with a bent leg painted with burn bruises from a fire accident. At only one and a half years of age, the young girl fell in a pool of fire where she was playing and sustained injuries to her left leg. As the father Denis Oroto narrates, Ataro’s accident caused his daughter so much pain. “Her left leg was burnt by the fire causing it to curve to a certain extent. She couldn’t move or shower herself. The mother had to feed and shower her,” he recounts. But it was not only the physical turmoil that foiled the family. Ataro’s accident also took a toll on the father’s finances. Oroto has spent nearly Ushs500,000 in an effort to treat the daughter and have her leg restored to normal. A team of the Uganda people's defense forces led by Lt A.W Mugonyi in collaboration with the ministry of health have today carried  out a covid-19 vaccination campaign aiming at vaccinating church leaders, their families and their followers at City of the loard church in Bwaise, Kalerwe. The UPDF was invited by ministry of health to give Manpower back up and expertise in the covid-19 vaccination, The activity was blessed by the overseer of Kawempe pentacostal churches Bishop Peter Mutebi who appreciated the Uganda People's Defense Forces and the Ministry of Health for taking the church into consideration.The campaign had a target of vaccinating over 500 church members and the people from the neighborhood today and it ended up cataring for all group of people from 18years and above....

Four people have been confirmed dead after a fuel tanker hit a stationary lorry at Kasunganyanja trading centre, along Fort Portal-Kasese Road in Bunyangabu District. According to Edward Kyaligonza, a journalist in the area, the fuel tanker was heading to Kasese from Fort Portal when its driver lost control as he reached a slope along Kasunganyanja trading centre hitting a stationary lorry that was being loaded with matooke. He said the police have so far recovered four bodies with the total number of casualties yet to be established. At the time of filing this report, police personnel were at the scene trying to put out the fire. At least 32 people have been confirmed dead after a grisly accident caused five vehicles to ram into one another. The accident occurred along the Kasese- FortPortal road along Hima Rugendabara road at Kihogo – Kasese after midnight. According to a report from Red Cross, 32 dead bodies have been recovered so far, and 5 survivors referred to Kilembe hospital. According to available information, a truck carrying a coffin hit another car head-on, before different cars rammed into both cars. “There was a big truck with a coffin and people on top, while a lorry full of people followed closely behind.
