Hajj pilgrimage will be limited to 60,000 people from within Saudi Arabia due to Covid, kingdom says

Mecca will be off limits to the vast majority of Muslims this year, after Saudi Arabia announced that only a select few, all from within the country, would be allowed to participate in the annual Hajj pilgrimage. The religious ceremony, which begins in mid-July, will be limited to 60,000 pilgrims between the ages of 18 to 65 who have been vaccinated against Covid-19, the kingdom’s Hajj and Umrah Ministry said in a statement released on Saturday. Martyrs day: Archbishop Kazimba asks Christians to respect Covid-19 guidelines

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba has asked Christians to respect the Covid-19 guidelines as they celebrate the Martyrs day. Kaziimba on Tuesday addressed journalists at his residence in Namirembe ahead of the commemoration of Uganda Martyrs Day on Thursday 3rd June. In previous years, millions of people from within and outside Uganda thronged both the Anglican and Catholic Shrines to commemorate the martyrs, a brave group of young men who died while defending their faith.
