Kyandondo East Member of Parliament and former presidential candidate, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu called for the unconditional release of all detainees. He also has asked legislators to take a position against what he terms as ‘abductions and inhumane treatment’ of National Unity Platform supporters.
Presenting a personal statement to the House on Thursday, 11 March 2021, Kyagulanyi said the January elections were characterized by unprecedented levels of electoral violence especially towards NUP supporters with many being abducted and tortured.“We face an apparent danger with most state institutions being reduced to serving the interests of an individual instead o...

Kampala-Uganda: Legislators will on Thursday, 4 March 2021 table their ‘lists’ of missing persons alleged to have been abducted by the security agencies.
The green light was given by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga during the Tuesday, 2 March 2021 sitting. It follows the continued delay by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gen. Jeje Odongo, to lay the lists from the Police and the army before Parliament.
According to Kadaga, there have been numerous complaints about abductions of Ugandans with the President Yoweri Museveni directing the agencies to make public the lists to enable their next of kin to trace them.
“In absence of that, I want to ask those Members who have missing people to produce a list and present it here and then we ask the Government to account for those people,” said Ka...
The ruling follows failure by the line ministries of Internal Affairs and that of National Security to adduce the list of suspected missing persons who are alleged to have been abducted by state security agents
Former presidential candidate and NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has run to the High court seeking a permanent injunction against the continued threats by the commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Atihority from impounding and re-examing his recently acquired motorvehicle; a Toyata Land cruiser ( UBJ 667F). Kyagulanyi contends the acts of the commissioner General in threatening to impound his vehicle are an infringement of his guaranteed constitutional rights to quietly enjoy and possess his property. Kyagulanyi claims that since his participation as a candidate in the recently concluded presidential election where NRM’s Tibahaburwa was declared winner , he has been a target by security and other government agencies thus forcing him to start wearing bullet ...
Bobi wine- since we petitioned the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice has met Kaguta Museveni about 3 times. Imagine this is an arbitrator meeting a respondent in a case. In one of the meetings, the Chief Justice presented a budget to Museveni.
Bobi wine cites precedent of Amama Mbabazi election petition where the court accepted an amendment. "It shocked us and the entire world that the Supreme Court rejected our application to file an amendment to the petition"
Bobi wine - We are convinced that the Supreme Court has a predetermined mind to reject our petition on grounds that we didn't have enough evidence. But this is the same court wc has refused to take our evidence. Part of the evidence is a video from Kalundi Serumaga
Bobi wine - the evidence also had DR forms from Kiruhura wh...
Kampala Uganda- The Electoral Commission added 445, 076 voters to the national voters register two months to the January 14 general elections. In a statement issued last year on September 17, the EC indicated that there were 17,658,527 registered voters eligible to participate in this year's general elections.
However, this number increased to 18,103,603 voters by November, a difference of 445,076 voters. The Commission didn’t communicate the change in the number of voters. The addition of the voters on the national register came almost a year after the completion of the national voters register update exercise.
The process of registration of new voters and the transfer of voter location stopped on December 11, 2019. The EC chairperson, Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi says the...
