Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected in Uganda today for talks that should culminate into the signing of the deals on Sunday 11, a top official from Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed "The Tanzanian president will be on her journey in a few hours for talks, which will climax with the signing ceremony on Sunday,” the official said. MEDIA STATEMENT  Parliament, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 – The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has expressed a concern over initiation school fatalities in the Eastern Cape, where 13 initiates lost their lives in December 2020. The committee had an engagement yesterday  with the Department of Traditional Affairs and the National House of Traditional Leaders (NHTL) on issues of initiation. The committee heard that fatalities occurred as a result of dehydration and alleged fighting despite the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), and the NHTL’s undertaking to put safety measures in place.
