Bobi Wine charged and remanded to Luzira Prison

Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine been charged and remanded to Luzira Prison on charges of holding ” a public meeting (anti-social media tax demo) without notifying police contrary to provisions of the Public Order Management Act (POMA) and his refusal to coordinate and cooperate with police to ensure that all participants in the demonstration were unarmed and peaceful. 

Others charged a long side him are disc joker (DJ) David Lule, Julius Katongole a student and resident of Namasuba, his brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu and his bodyguard, Edward Sebufu alias Eddie Mutwe. 

The legislator was this morning arrested while on his way to Police Criminal Investigations Department, Headquarters in Kibuli and whisked to Naggalama Police Station in Mukono district from where he was driven back to the city centre to Buganda Road court to appear before Grade One magistrate Esther Nahirya. .

During the court summons, he pledged not guilty and was remanded to Luzira until May 2.
