Singer Adam Mulwana out without charge
Singer Adam Mulwana of the ‘ Tokwa Kwa Bara Bara ’ fame has been released from Katwe Police Station following his arbitrary arrest in a city resort in Ndejje on Wednesday night while performing the renowned song.
Reports indicate police had earlier cautioned event promoter Haruna Mubiru against a stage appearance for the controversial singer.
Mulwana was on Thursday released from Katwe Police Station without charge. It followed protests outside the police station from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) supporters led by Women League leader Ingrid Turinawe demanding the immediate release of the singer.
The singer who released the popular hit song that showered praise on Dr. Kizza Besigye catapulting a trademark slogan for the then leading opposition figure in the 2016 presidential elections has since courted controversy, once reporting he is a constant target for threats and continuously changes residence to fend off attackers.
In 2017, his studio in Makindye was razed by unknown individuals.
