The event that was disrupted by the on and off rains kicked off from 23rd -25tThe total kitty for the male players was Shs 10,000,000.

Akena said“I have used the tournament to improve different aspects of my game as a player,”
He also credited the Uganda Golf Union for creating a platform that has boosted local competition and sharpened players’ match-play skills.

National Council of Sports Assistant General Secretary Milton Chebet applauded Uganda Golf Union for it’s insistence on quality that has ensured success on both the local and international scenes.
He was presiding over the event representing the National Council of Sports General Secretary Dr.Patrick Ogwel.
“Government is there to support Sports”. “All you need to do is to Support the current government if you are to benefit from it”.”We have supported many Sports activities and we are not about to stop” Chebet said.The tournament attracted more than 150 players.
Joseph Reagan Akena and Peace Kabasweka won themselves cash prizes and two days full board at Trackers safari lodge.
Ofcourse Kabasweka started as favourite but Kyomugisha’s confidence has grown in recent times, and their match-up was quite interesting for viewing.
The President of the Uganda Golf Union Union Dr.Jackson Were said, “this competition keeps improving every year”. We want to thank our Sponsors for the support.”Next year’s competition would be at the Uganda Golf Club”,he revealed.
Dr Were praised all the players for the high level competitive Spirit.
In the subsidiary category,Maxi Byenkya and Charles Kabunga were the respective female and male gender senior winners.
Men’s group A was won by Dr.Alex Coutinho and honor that fell to Berna Musanabera among the ladies.
Men’s group B was triumphed by Geoffrey Byamugisha,Eric Kawere whipped all men in group C while Florence Namuganza edged all ladies in group B.
In the side bets,Alex Muwanguzi was the nearest to the pin among the men,an honor that fell to Berna Musanabera among the ladies onto which she added the longest drive whose male award went to Edward Okech.
