Kampala, Uganda: The second round of the 2026 National Basketball League (NBL) tips off this Friday at Lugogo Indoor Arena, with top teams set for decisive clashes as the race for playoff spots intensifies.

The round, which runs until June 12, will determine the top eight teams in both the men’s and women’s divisions, with standings still tightly contested following the first round.

In the women’s headline fixture, JT Lady Jaguars face off against UCU Lady Canons in a top-of-the-table clash.

Both sides are tied on 10 wins and one loss, with the Lady Jaguars currently leading on points difference, setting up one of the most anticipated games of the round.

In the men’s game, Sommet BC take on JT Jaguars, with both teams pushing for a stronger position in the standings. Sommet sit fifth with six wins, while JT Jaguars are sixth with five wins.

At UCU Mukono, the women’s division opens Saturday with Angels Basketball Club taking on Miracle Eaglets. Angels are bottom with one win, while Miracle have three.

UPDF Lady Tomahawks face Nabisunsa Girls, with UPDF aiming to build on their five wins against Nabisunsa’s two.

Meanwhile, JKL Lady Dolphins, with eight wins, meet KIU Rangers, who have four wins.

In the men’s division, league leaders City Oilers, unbeaten in dominance with 10 wins, face a strong challenge from KCCA Panthers, who have seven wins.

UCU Canons will take on Rezlife Saints, with Rezlife sitting second on nine wins, while UCU have five.

Sunday’s fixtures return to Lugogo with evenly matched women’s sides Pearl Queens and Magic Stormers, both on five wins.

UCU Lady Canons will again be in action against UPDF Lady Tomahawks in another key encounter.

In the men’s division, UPDF Tomahawks face Kampala Rockets, with both teams looking to climb from the lower end of the table.

UMU Flames and JKL Dolphins meet in a tightly balanced contest, with both sides on two wins.

The weekend concludes with a blockbuster clash as Rezlife Saints take on City Oilers.

Rezlife will be confident after defeating the Oilers 62–48 in the first round, but the defending champions will be eager to respond and maintain their top position.

The second round will be played across multiple venues, including Lugogo Indoor Arena, UCU Mukono, Abja Park Naalya, Rezlife Lubowa, YMCA Wandegeya, Jaguars Den Kira, Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, and Hoima Stadium Arena.
