Riyadh, March 3 (SANA) The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia’s capital was struck by two drones, Saudi authorities said Monday, describing it as a limited attack that caused minor damage.
The Saudi Press Agency, citing Defense Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki, reported that the embassy was targeted by two drones based on preliminary assessments. The incident caused a small fire and minor material damage to the building, but no casualties were reported.
Al-Maliki added that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed eight additional drones near the cities of Riyadh and Al-Kharj.
In recent days, Iran launched missile and drone attacks against several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, resulting in casualties and infrastructure damage. The attacks came amid heightened regional tensions following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian territories.
