President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame on Sunday, February 1, laid a wreath in honour of Rwandan heroes at the National Heroes Mausoleum in Remera.

The annual event was also attended by senior government officials, leaders of the military and police, diplomats, and family members of the honoured heroes.

The ceremony was part of activities marking National Heroes’ Day, observed annually on February 1. This year marked the 32nd commemoration, during which heroes are recognised in three categories: Imanzi, Imena, and Ingenzi.

The New Times photographer Olivier Mugwiza, covered the prayer and brought the highlights.
