Celebrities react to Carlos Alcaraz beating Novak Djokovic
The eyes of the world were on the mammoth Australian Open final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
Ahead of the game, England Cricket legend Kevin Pietersen wrote on X, “Please, Novak!” After Alcaraz’s win, Pietersen gave Alcaraz his flowers, saying, “Well, the youngster is quite brilliant. He’s SO likeable!”
Former Nigerian international football star Sunday Oliseh expressed excitement ahead of the game. He wrote, “Please tell me you are not missing out on the G.O.A.T of Tennis, Djokovic (and I am a Federer supporter) versus my favourite player of all time, Alcaraz, square up?
“The quality is just unbelievable, and I am totally in awe of what Djokovic is doing! What a Guy! At 38 years old? He must be an Alien!!”

Carlos Alcaraz can revel in incredible win over Novak Djokovic
Despite going down one set 6-2, Carlos Alcaraz rallied back to win three sets in a row 6-2, 6-3, and 7-5 to win the 2026 Australian Open.
Both stars won incredible games in the semi-finals against Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner to get to this point.
In the end, Alcaraz made history, becoming the youngest career Grand Slam winner in history at the age of just 22 years old.
Take nothing away from the veteran Djokovic, who put on a stellar performance throughout the tournament in what can be considered one of the best tournament outings by a player of his age.
