The Rwenzururu King, His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere, has condemned the violent attacks on security installations in Kasese and Bundibugyo districts, distancing the cultural institution from the acts.

On Saturday, suspected armed assailants attacked Kasese Central Police Station and Rugendabara Police Post, while another group targeted Malindi and Kakuka military detachments in Bundibugyo District.

In a statement delivered through the Kingdom Premier, Rt. Hon. Baritazale Benson Kule, the Omusinga expressed concern over social media speculations falsely linking the attacks to the Obusinga bwa Rwenzururu (OBR).
“Such actions, whether driven by history, prejudice, or misinformation, only mislead the public and hinder efforts to identify the real perpetrators,” he said.

Currently on a medication tour in Turkey, the King reiterated that the Kingdom remains committed to peace, unity in diversity, reconciliation, socio-economic and cultural transformation, and mindset change, the guiding principles of its operations.

He extended appreciation to the Government of Uganda and security agencies for their swift response in restoring calm, urging local residents to continue cooperating with security forces.

In a related development, Tooro Kingdom also condemned the insurgent attacks in Kasese, Bundibugyo, and Fort Portal City, which resulted in multiple casualties.
