Comrade Kyeswa Rallies NRM Youth, Veterans to Support His Bid for Central Vice Chairman Race.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) youthful cadre, comrade Kyeswa Hakim, has called on fellow youth and veterans across the Central Region to rally behind his bid for NRM Vice Chairman, pledging to inject fresh energy, digital innovation, and inclusive leadership into the party’s top structures.
Hakim, who is among the youngest contenders in the race, said the time has come for the next generation of NRM leaders to take responsibility for translating the party’s liberation legacy into modern economic and social transformation.
“The NRM’s strength has always been its ability to evolve without losing its core values. Our veteran leaders fought for liberation; now, we must protect their legacy by injecting new energy into the party,” he said, addressing youth delegates and veteran mobilisers in a social media statement.
Hakim revealed that his campaign will focus on four priorities:
1. Youth Mobilization: Harnessing the power of millions of young voters through grassroots networks and digital platforms,
2. Manifesto Delivery: Ensuring NRM pledges translate into measurable improvements in people’s lives,
3. Skills Development: Championing mentorship and opportunities for young cadres to rise through the party ranks and,
4. Unity Across Generations: Promoting respect and cooperation between veterans and emerging leaders.
Hakim, who is also the ONC Digital Media boss, stressed that the NRM must evolve to stay relevant to a rapidly changing electorate, arguing that youthful leadership is essential to drive innovation and accountability.
“This is a defining moment for the NRM,” he said. “Our founders built a strong foundation, and we must now build on it with courage, creativity, and commitment.”
With the NRM’s internal elections fast approaching, Hakim urged young voters to see his candidacy as a chance to secure the party’s future and protect its hard-won gains. “Your support is not just for me as a person,” he declared.
“It is a vote for a more vibrant, responsive, and united NRM that leaves no generation behind.”
The NRM Delegates, who form the party’s electoral college, are expected to elect CEC Members in the period of August 22-25.
