Kabaka Mutebi Returns Home After Medical Visit Abroad.
The Kabaka’s return is expected to reassure many in Buganda and beyond who have been closely following updates about his health.
ENTEBBE — The Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has returned to Uganda after a medical visit abroad, the Kingdom has confirmed.
According to an official statement from Bulange, the Kabaka was welcomed at Entebbe International Airport by the First Deputy Katikkiro, Owek. Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Kigongo, alongside other senior Buganda Kingdom officials.
This marks the latest development in a series of health-related journeys the Kabaka has undertaken since concerns about his condition first emerged publicly in 2021.
That year, during his 66th birthday celebrations at Lubiri, Kabaka Mutebi appeared visibly frail and unwell, sparking concern across the Kingdom.
Calm
Since then, the Kingdom leadership has consistently provided updates on his condition while urging calm and prayers from his subjects.
Just a few weeks ago, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga confirmed that the Kabaka had travelled to consult with his personal doctors abroad, reaffirming that the monarch remained in stable condition.
“He travelled while stable and continues to receive the best care,” the Katikkiro said.
The Kabaka’s return is expected to reassure many in Buganda and beyond who have been closely following updates about his health.
Though the Kingdom has not disclosed the exact location of his medical consultations or the details of his condition, officials have emphasized that his health remains a top priority.
