Crested Cranes and Kampala Queens captain Shamirah Nalugya has completed a move to European side FC Minsk Women.

She underwent medical tests on July 2, 2025, and passed, paving the way for her signing with the Belarus side.

Nalugya has signed a one-year employment contract with FC Minsk Women.

Last season, Nalugya captained Kampala Queens to Women Super League title triumph, finishing as the club’s top scorer.

She was also named the league’s MVP after scoring 9 goals and seven assists in 21 games.

Nalugya’s departure ends her three-year stint with the Queens of Soccer, where she managed to win two league titles.

The calm and composed midfielder becomes the first player to leave Kampala Queens, but more players are expected to leave.

Kampala Queens have already started searching for Nalugya’s replacement ahead of the forthcoming 2025 CAF Women Champions League Zonal Qualifiers in September.

Nalugya’s new team, FC Minsk Women, are already in the qualifiers of the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League and will play the winner between Glasgow City or Vienna in the semifinals scheduled for August 27, 2025.

Nalugya previously played for Isra Soccer Academy and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
