As the nomination exercise for central executive committee of The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, about to get done, the party electoral commission chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, while addressing members of the media, today at the party headquarters in Kyadondo Kampala, has confirmed that no member of the party who has been nominated by the party, should take musicians to the areas where the campaigns will be conducted. The Chairperson has said that, the party members should follow the guidelines and campaign jointly as agreed upon by the party.
“We want to tell our candidates that the campaigns should be jointly and no member is supposed to take musicians to villages for campaigns because they disorganize the programs” he said. Tanga has also informed the media that they have postponed to 17th July 2025. And that those who wish to stand on party ticket as national chairman, will be picking the forms when they are ready.
Adrine Kobusingye , following her nomination to contest as National Chairperson, for NRM women league, has confirmed that she is going to work on the issues of women in the party and make sure that they are handled very well. Many people who have come out to be nominated for central executive committee (CEC) positions, have pledge to work for their party and to make sure that the current chairman of the party, Yoweri Museveni, Leads the Country again and also regain dominance in central part of the country .
Senior Presidential Advisor on Trade, Philip Kakuru has also been nominated for the position of chairman entrepreneur league, has told the media that he is going to fight for the traders for them to get the required representation in the committee. “As Kakuru, am going to work for the party and also to work for traders who have not been represented in the central executive committee. My coming here is to fight for them and make them gain in the ruling party. All along, the traders have not been having any representation in Uganda revenue authority but I try to solve that by making sure they represented
Kwame Rugunda, aspiring NRM national general secretary on Central executive committee, has also told journalists that with the NRM party, he is going to fight for unemployment and promote government programs such as Emyooga, Parish Development Model, among others. It should be remembered that those contesting are required to pay a non-refundable fee ranging from Uganda Shillings 20 million. The party has used today’s media briefing to confirm that the chairman of the party, will be nominated for two positions namely; chairman of the party and party flag bearer respectively, on Saturday this week.
