The Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has warmly received a delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) to Uganda, led by Ms. Rao Huihoa, Director General of the party’s International Liaison Department.
In his welcoming remarks during last night’s dinner at Serena Hotel, Rt. Hon. Todwong said the NRM and Uganda are pleased to have a strategic and historic bond with the ruling CPC and the government of the People’s Republic of China.
”You are most welcome. Your three-day working visit is a huge deal to both of us,” Todwong said.
Earlier in the day, the delegation was welcomed to Uganda upon arrival at Entebbe Airport by Hon. James Tweheyo and Maj. (Rtd) Awich Pollar, the Director of External Affairs.
Todwong said, “It is a pleasure to welcome the delegation to Uganda, a peaceful and beautiful nation straddling the equator and blessed with one of the world’s most favourable climates.”
Highlighting the longstanding ties between the NRM and the CPC, Hon. Todwong added: ”Your visit allows us to celebrate our cooperation and explore new avenues for strengthening this partnership.”
He further assured the delegation of Uganda’s stability under President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership, wishing them a “productive and enjoyable stay”.
On her part, Ms. Rao Huihoa thanked the NRM leadership for their hospitality and expressed optimism for a successful three-day visit, underscoring the mutual benefits of continued collaboration.
