Trump bans citizens from 11 countries entering US
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has banned citizens of several countries from entering the United States to protect American citizens and interests from terrorists.
According to a foreign news agency, US President Donald Trump signed a new travel ban order, under which citizens of 12 countries have been banned from entering the United States.
According to the White House, the countries whose citizens have been banned include Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
A statement issued by the White House said that the aim of this measure is to protect the American people from dangerous foreign elements.
President Trump said in a video message that the terrorist attack that occurred in Colorado in recent days is proof that foreign citizens who are not properly verified can pose a serious threat to our country.
In addition, US President Trump has also banned visas for foreign students at Harvard University.
Earlier, an unknown person attacked a rally in favor of Israel in the US state of Colorado, injuring 6 people, while the attacker was also arrested in an injured state.
Officials said that the 45-year-old attacker also shouted the slogan “Free Palestine” at the time of the attack.
