See which players are unavailable for Premier League matches because they are suspended or are close to a ban due to their accumulation of yellow cards.

Who is suspended?

Four players are suspended for Matchweek 13 and three Southampton players are out of Matchweek 14 following Friday’s draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Tyler Dibling, Flynn Downes and Taylor Harwood-Bellis will all miss the visit of Chelsea in midweek after picking up their fifth bookings of the campaign.

Antoine Semenyo collected his fifth yellow card of the campaign in AFC Bournemouth’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton, triggering an automatic one-match ban. He is suspended for the Matchweek 13 trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Crystal Palace‘s Daichi Kamada is two games into a three-match ban for serious foul play. He will miss the upcoming encounter against Newcastle United as well as the match at Ipswich Town in Matchweek 14.

Mohammed Kudus will be absent when West Ham United host Arsenal in Matchweek 13.

Kudus completed a three-match ban following his sending-off in West Ham’s 4-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur. But he was subsequently suspended for two additional fixtures after an independent Regulatory Commission ruled he had acted in an improper manner and/or used violent conduct following his red card.

Rodrigo Bentancur began his seven-game suspension when Spurs travelled to Manchester City on Saturday. The Uruguayan was sanctioned for an aggravated breach of FA Rule E3. He will miss five further Premier League matches and the EFL Cup quarter-final against Manchester United in December, although Spurs have appealed against the length of the ban.

Available for selection again

Bournemouth’s Ryan Christie is available for selection in Matchweek 13 after watching his side’s Matchweek 12 defeat to Brighton from the sidelines.

Edson Alvarez has completed his two-match suspension and is available for the visit of Arsenal. The Mexican was dismissed for two bookable offences in Matchweek 10 but, having previously been sent off in West Ham’s 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup, he was banned for an extra match as it was his second red card this season.

Unlike yellow cards, red cards are carried over from domestic cup competitions.

Newcastle’s Dan Burn will be in contention for the trip to Crystal Palace after serving his suspension for reaching the five yellow-card suspension threshold.

Facundo Buonanotte could return when Leicester take on Brentford at the weekend after missing the home defeat to Chelsea.

Christian Norgaard was sent off for serious foul play in Brentford’s goalless draw with Everton following a VAR review. But the red card has been rescinded, so the midfielder is now available for the home meeting with Leicester City in Matchweek 13.

And Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, sent off for picking up two yellow cards in MW12, is available for MW14 after serving his suspension on Friday.

Who is close to a ban?

Players who receive a total of five yellow cards in their first 19 matches will be given a one-match suspension.

Nicolas Jackson is one of 25 players on four yellow cards, a list that also includes Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Meanwhile, Cole Palmer is among a growing number of players on three yellow cards.

Should a player be booked 10 times across their first 32 Premier League matches, they will be suspended for two games. Yellow cards are not carried over to the EFL Cup or FA Cup.
