Nottingham Forest is pleased to announce it has agreed a deal to sign David Carmo from FC Porto.
The 25-year-old has joined the club on a five-year deal and will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at Olympiacos.
Carmo arrives having played the majority of his football in the Portuguese Primeira Liga for S.C. Braga and FC Porto, but spent the back end of last season on loan at Olympiacos where he helped them become UEFA Europa Conference League champions.
Beginning his senior career at S.C. Braga, the central defender made 57 appearances across all competitions which included lifting the Taça de Portugal in the 2020/21 season. He then made the move back to his hometown in Porto where he went on to feature 27 times for FC Porto and again found success in the Portuguese Cup in 2023.
He also has a wealth of European competition experience registering nine appearances in both the UEFA Champions League and Europa Conference League for FC Porto and Olympiacos respectively, as well as 11 in the UEFA Europa League for S.C. Braga.
During the early stages of his career, Carmo was part of Portugal’s 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship squad featuring four times as he helped his nation become champions in Finland.
We wish David all the best for his season at Olympiacos.
