A state of emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in southern India on Thursday (Aug 22) after a bomb threat was received on an Air India flight from Mumbai, news agency Press Trust of India reported while citing sources at the airport.
The sources said that the flight landed at the airport at around 8:00 AM and was subsequently moved to an isolation bay.
Passengers are being evacuated from the flight, they said.
The flight had 135 passengers onboard and the bomb threat was communicated by the pilot as the aircraft approached the Thiruvananthapuram airport.
At the time of filing this report, details on the origin of the threat and other information are awaited.
