Units of the North group of Russian forces repelled five attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the day, a Russian senior military officer said.
“We repelled five attacks by formations of the 57th mechanized, 92nd assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Vostok special operations forces, and the Kraken Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine,” TASS reported, citing Yaroslav Yakimkin, a senior officer of the group’s press center.
According to him, the group’s units defeated the manpower and equipment of three Ukrainian brigades.
He further noted that the enemy lost up to 255 military personnel, 6 pickup trucks, the Akatsiya self-propelled gun, and the Enclave-N electronic warfare station in just one day.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russia continued its offensive with 13 combat engagements near Hlyboke, Starytsia, Lyptsi, and Vovchansk.
In the Kupyansk sector, there were 11 attacks over the last day, all of which Ukrainian forces repelled near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane, and Berestove.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russians attacked 11 times in the areas of Ivanivske, Andriyivka, and Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops carried out 19 attacks near Toretsk, Pivnichne, Zalizne, and Nyzhnyk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 42 assaults in areas including Oleksandropil, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Prohres, Lozuvatske, Sokil, Yasnobrodivka, Vozdvyzhenka, and Karlivka, where Russian forces, supported by aviation, attempted to dislodge Ukrainian units. The largest concentration of enemy forces was near Novooleksandrivka.
In the Vremivka sector, the enemy made six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Urozhayne.
In the Orikhiv sector, there were three combat engagements near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged, with no signs of enemy offensive groups forming.
Along the border with Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, Russia maintains a military presence, shells settlements, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
Russian assault in Ukraine’s east
Spokesperson for the Khortitsya Operational and Strategic Grouping of Troops, Nazar Voloshyn, noted on June 6 that the Russian army is attempting to advance on Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selydove in Donetsk Oblast.
Russian forces advanced near the town of Chasiv Yar and northwest of Avdiivka, the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on June 8.
The DeepState monitoring group reported that Russian troops occupied Ivanivske on June 10.
DeepState reported on June 14 that Russian forces occupied Novopokrovske in Donetsk Oblast.
Russian forces advanced near the village of Sokil and in the village of Novooleksandrivka, DeepState reported on June 16. UK intelligence confirmed that Russian forces likely gained control of Novooleksandrivka.
The ISW reported on June 18 that Russian troops were advancing west of Avdiivka. Footage with confirmed geolocation from June 16 and 17 showed Russian troops advancing south of Sokil village and north of Umanske.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on June 23 that Russian troops are increasing the pace of their offensive operations in Donetsk Oblast, particularly in the Toretsk-Horlivka area.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi stated on July 2 that the active front line had increased in the east, although the intensity of hostilities had decreased in some areas.
