WOMEN’S FOOTBALL ASISAT OSHOALA ACHIEVES A HAT-TRICK THIS SEASON WITH HER SECOND WOMEN’S LDC

After a show in Eindhoven, Netherlands, FC Barcelona beat Wolfsburg 3-2 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final. A second trophy for Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala.

Asisat Oshoala did not play a single moment of this historic final. Installed in the stands because of an injury, she nevertheless followed the remontada of hers from beginning to end. Leading 2-0 before the break, Barcelona turned the tide in the second half for the 3-2 win over VfL Wolfsburg.

This coronation is the second of FC Barcelona. It is also the second time Asisat Oshoala has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League. After a Spanish Super Cup title, another La Liga title and this women’s C1 cup, the Nigerian striker achieved a hat-trick with Barça.

A historic final for women’s football in the Netherlands!

The trophy is historic for Asisat Oshoala but also for women’s football in the Netherlands. The final in Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion saw a record attendance of 33,147. A bright future looks ahead for women’s football ahead of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in which Nigeria is participating.
