Muhoozi, who joined the army in 1999, was last week promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to General by President Museveni. The former Special Forces commander was decorated by his wife Charlotte and retired Gen. (Rtd) Salim Saleh.
Muhoozi was recently promoted to the rank of full general by the commander in chief of the Ugandan Armed Forces, also the President of the Republic of Uganda General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Muhoozi is also the president’s son.
The pipping ceremony was witnessed by senior UPDF officers including the Commander of Defence Forces Gen. Wilson Mbadi among other Generals.
Muhoozi’s new rank is the highest in the army.

Congratulations @mkainerugaba upon attainment of the General Rank and your successful pipping ceremony today. No one more apt to place those pips than General Salim Saleh. Kudos pic.twitter.com/Fbi0j6Sz1C
