Uganda national netball team, the She Cranes have finished fifth in the Commonwealth Games 2022 scoring 54-48.
This follows hard work and determination to secure a victory over rival South Africa team at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, United Kingdom on Friday 5th August.
The two team have met several times but South Africa always enjoys the victory over Uganda.
This is the first victory Uganda has got over African’s number one and so far it’s the best achievement she cranes have had.
The She cranes led the first quarter and narrowly took it 15-13 then extended their lead in the second quarter 30-21.
South Africa showed more determination in the third quarter and managed to win the quarter 16-11 and the reduced Uganda’s lead to four goals 41-37.
The determined South African came into the fourth and made very more errors which the She Cranes capitated on and sealed a victory at the Commonwealth Games 2022 scoring 54-48.
The two nations have met 16 times before with South Africa claiming all the victories. South Africa is ranked fifth in the world while Uganda at sixth position.
This victory might stuff Uganda to the 5th position in the world ranking.
