Authorities in Kapoeta State have arrested 20 people for allegedly looting a humanitarian vehicle belonging to World Food Programme along the Kapoeta-Mogos road.

The aid vehicle carrying food and non food items was looted two weeks ago while on its way to Mogos and Jie.

The drivers were also reportedly stripped naked and their belongings taken.

The state minister, Joseph Kabaka, has confirmed the arrest of 20 youth in connection with the theft.

“The Suspects are undergoing investigation because the World Food Program has expressed serious concern” said Kabaka. “This of course may distract the distribution of food to the needy.”

The Minister has assured the public and World Food Programme that the youth will have to face the law.
