NFA to partner with Parliament of Uganda in tree planting drive

Kampala, Uganda:

Uganda’s National Forestry Authority to partner with Parliament of Uganda in a tree planting drive. The tree planting will take place in March which is a tree planting season in Mt. Moroto Central Forest Reserve Karamoja region. During the Parliament Week charity walk the NFA Board Member- Maggie Kigozi urged Members of Parliament, the Albino community and the general public to partner with NFA in a greening Uganda campaign by planting trees in their communities. The NFA ED-Micheal Mugisa said that NFA is grateful to Parliament for prioritising forest restoration as a noble cause. Added that our environment is everyone’s responsibility so working together in conservation efforts is the best approach, he pledged to support members of Parliament with free seedlings to plant trees in their constituencies.
The PR & Communications Manager said NFA has got programmes such as community tree planting and corporate Tree planting programme where we give free seedlings for planting both on private and central forest reserves.
