Uganda and Tanzania Presidents inaugurate the One Stop Border Post

Mutukula, Uganda.

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and Tanzania’s  leader John Pombe Magufuli have today inaugurated the Mutukula One Stop Border Post

During the ceremony the two head of states also placed the cross-border marker for the construction of the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).

According to the Secretary General of East African Community, Ambassador Liberat Mfumukeko, the East African Community (EAC) has completed 13 out of 15 earmarked One Stop Border Posts by now.

However, hundreds of Ugandans and Tanzanians turned up for the event at Mutukula to witness the commissioning of the exclusive Use border areas at the Uganda and Tanzania borders to facilitate trade.

The President of Tanzania, Magufuli, advised host communities to take advantage of  EACOP to improve their livelihoods.

Magufuli, on Saturday will visit the western town of Hoima in Uganda to lay the second foundation stone for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
