LONDON, United Kingdom: Penny Mordaunt has hailed the “incredible power of technology to deliver aid in new ways” on her first official visit to Kenya as International Development Secretary. During her visit, Ms Mordaunt saw how UK aid is supporting vulnerable communities in the north of the country devastated by East Africa’s drought. In Kenya’s capital Nairobi, Ms Mordaunt also heard how UK support for innovative programmes is helping to create jobs for a rising population. United Kingdom International Secretary visits Kenya to discuss UK-Kenya partnership

NAIROBI, Kenya: Britain’s Secretary of State for International Development, the Rt Hon Penny Mordaunt, is in Kenya for a two day visit to discuss greater UK-Kenya cooperation on economic growth and investment. The Secretary of State, who oversees the UK’s development aid, will hold meetings with members of national government and visit businesses here in Kenya. Ms Mordaunt will discuss priority areas of mutual interest including opportunities to boost economic development and improve quality and access to services. Winning design for 2015 Sousse and Bardo Memorial announced

LONDON, United Kingdom: The ‘Infinite Wave’ by London and Gloucester-based George King Architects has been selected as the design for the memorial dedicated to the 31 British nationals who lost their lives, and to all of those affected by the two terrorist attacks in Tunisia in 2015. An independent panel shortlisted seven designs from 19 entries, and chose ‘Infinite Wave’ following consultation with family members of those affected by the two attacks. As announced last year, the sculpture will be located in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, and construction is due to be completed later on this year.
