Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko shot and killed in Kiev

KIEV, Ukraine Russian Prominent Journalist, EX  soldier and vocal critic of President Vladimir Putin has died after being shot in Kiev, Ukraines's capital. According to Ukrainian Police, Arkady Babchenko succumbed to his wounds on his way to the hospital. His wife found him earlier bleeding at their apartment building and called an ambulance. The Police investigating Babchenko's killing said they suspect the crime is linked to his work. "The leading and obvious line of inquiry is that of his professional activities," Andriy Kryshchenko, Kiev police chief, told Interfax Ukraine news agency. BRUSSELS, Belgium The 81th AIPS Congress , set to be held in the Belgian capital next week (May 7-10), will welcome Massimo Busacca, Director FIFA Refereeing, and Johannes Holzmüller, FIFA Head of Football Technology Innovation Department, to foster a deeper understanding of the video assistant referee (VAR) among sports journalists. The new technology will be used at this summer’s World Cup in Russia. The International Sports Press Association is very pleased to welcome Busacca and Holzmüller on May 8th, the first day of the Congress, at Hotel Le Plaza in Brussels. Uganda, Kampala The Kingdom of Buganda has officially handed over 10 acres  of land to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) at Kawolo, Lugazi. FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo received the land title from the Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga at the Kawolo Division headquarters during a well-attended ceremony also graced by the Buikwe Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Fred Bamwine.
