Namirembe Cathedral mourns Uganda’s retired late Archbishop Nkoyoyo

A Pictorial of Former Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo at  St Paul Cathedral Namirembe on Sunday evening.

Nkoyoyo is to be buried today Tuesday at Namugongo Anglican Martyrs Shrine near the museum which he has been working hard to complete. At the same venue, on June 3, 1969, Nkoyoyo was ordained.

Government has said former Archbishop Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo will be accorded official burial.

A special funeral service  is expected to be  held this morning (Tuesday) at 9am at the Anglican Shrines of the Uganda martyrs in Namugongo before burial later in the day.

The retired archbishop died Friday from Kampala hospital after succumbing to pneumonia, having undergone successful treatment for cancer in the UK early last year.
