LODWAR, Turkana, Kenya Kenya's First Lady Margaret Kenyatta will today, officially open the 4th Turkana County Cultural and Tourism Festival, popularly known as Tobong’u Lore which means welcome back home. Kampala, Uganda African youth must reject foreign cultures and traditions including homosexuality as they prepare to take up leadership positions on the continent, Parliamentary Commissioner Cecilia Atim Ogwal has said. Speaking at the opening of the 4th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (Africa Region) Youth Parliament, Hon. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition that test a law student’s comprehension of principles of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law among Universities globally. The Church of Uganda founded University also secured a place among the world’s top 50 universities in this prestigious competition which is held annually in Washington DC, USA. Kampala, Uganda The Central Bank of Uganda, has announced a roll out of a new cheque processing system that should ease existing stringent roadblocks that have made processing cheques a slow and expensive mode of cash transfer. Currently it takes between four to five days to cash in on a cheque, especially when the transaction involves more than one bank. With the new cheque truncation system, the cheque will now be cleared on the same day or within 24 hours depending on whether the cheque is local or outstation.
