Kenya, Nairobi Kenya's President H.E Uhuru Kenyatta has emphasized the need for the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of countries to be accorded increased access to the European Union (EU) market. The President said such arrangements like the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) should recognize each country’s level of development so that no country feels disadvantaged. He observed that " ACP countries are at different levels of development and they can only reap maximum benefit from the EPA's if their individual levels of economic development are taken into consideration." KHARTOUM, Sudan After more than 10 years of hosting Chadian refugees in Central Darfur, Mukjar refugee camp in Central Darfur is set to close, as the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the Commissioner of Refugees (COR) assisted the last refugees to return to their home country. On Friday 6 April 2018, over 500 Chadian refugees still living in Mukjar camp were provided with return packages and transportation to a reception center in Eastern Chad, where UNHCR and the Government of Chad will provide further assistance for reintegration. UNHCR and COR are now making the final arrangements to hand over the land and camp facilities to local authorities and the host community. WASHINGTON D.C An International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff team led by Dhaneshwar Ghura visited Abidjan from March 22 to April 5, 2018, to hold discussions on the 2018 Article IV Consultation and the third review of the three-year economic and financial program supported by the IMF through arrangements under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) and the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). The authorities and the IMF team reached a staff-level agreement on the third review of the ECF and EFF arrangements, subject to approval by IMF management and the Executive Board.
