Kyle Walker joins AC Milan on loan
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has joined AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, subject to international clearance.
Walker, 34, has made 15 Premier League appearances for Man City this season, but earlier this month Pep Guardiola confirmed that the England international had “expressed an interest” in leaving to pursue a new challenge abroad.
Since joining Man City from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017, Walker has been an integral part of the team’s success, helping the club secure 15 major trophies, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.
In a message posted via his official Instagram account, Walker said: “Signing for this incredible club in 2017 was a dream come true.
“To play alongside so many top players has pushed me to be the best version of myself, and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity I’ve had at the Etihad.”
As well as thanking Guardiola, the club’s staff, his team-mates, and his family, Walker said this to Man City supporters:
“Most importantly, to the fans. Thank you for embracing me as one of your own from day one.
“Your unwavering support, week in, week out, home and away, will never be forgotten. I wish you all constant success going forward.”
Over the course of his 16-year Premier League career, Walker has amassed 410 appearances in the top flight and contributed to 130 clean sheets. He has also scored eight goals and produced 36 assists.
Walker is widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in Premier League history, and has been named in the PFA Team of the Year four times.
On the international stage, he has been a key player for England and was named vice-captain for the UEFA EURO 2024 campaign. Walker is currently just seven caps away from becoming a centurion for his country.
