MTN Uganda joins Busoga Kingdom to celebrate the 10th coronation anniversary of His Majesty Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV

 The 10th coronation anniversary is a testament to the strong leadership of His Majesty, and MTN Uganda looks forward to strengthening its relationship with the Kingdom, advancing shared goals, and building a prosperous future for the people of Busoga.

Jinja 13 September 2024 – MTN Uganda joined the Kingdom of Busoga yesterday in celebrating the 10th coronation anniversary of His Royal Highness, Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV.

This significant occasion marked a decade of visionary leadership, unwavering commitment, and remarkable contributions toward the social and economic well-being of the people of Busoga. It was also the first time that Busoga Kingdom was holding the celebration with the Inhebantu, Jovia Mutesi.

Allan Njagala, the head commercial East at MTN Uganda represented the technology company in a celebratory event held at Bukungu Primary School in Budiope. He delivered a congratulatory message on behalf of MTN Uganda’s Chief Executive Officer, Sylvia Mulinge, commending His Majesty for his steadfast leadership and dedication to uplifting the Busoga region.

In his speech, Njagala emphasized MTN Uganda’s long-standing partnership with the Kingdom of Busoga, highlighting various collaborative efforts aimed at transforming lives.

“At MTN Uganda, we believe in working together with communities to foster sustainable development, and under the leadership of His Majesty, we are proud to contribute to the progress of the Busoga region,” Njagala said.

Over the years, MTN Uganda has supported numerous initiatives within Busoga, including sponsoring the Masaza Cup, now in its 7th edition, which serves to promote unity and pride among the people of Busoga through sports. Additionally, MTN Uganda has been actively involved in the construction of a classroom block at Malongo Ark Peas High School in Mayuge and the donation of 150 solar kits to schools in Kamuli, aimed at enhancing education through clean energy solutions.

As part of its contribution to the 10th coronation anniversary celebrations, MTN Uganda announced a donation of UGX 30 million towards the festivities. This gesture underscored the company’s enduring commitment to the Kingdom and its shared values of development and empowerment.

“We are proud to support the Kingdom’s efforts to uplift communities, and today, we are especially inspired by His Majesty’s championing of environmental restoration through tree planting initiatives. These efforts align with MTN Uganda’s dedication to sustainability and creating long-term economic opportunities for the people of Busoga,” Njagala added.

MTN Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to being a reliable partner to the Kingdom of Busoga, and together with His Majesty Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, the company will continue working towards enhancing the socio-economic development of the region.
