After having a busy season with his Club Mamelodi Sundowns and Uganda national team in the last 12 months, Denis Onyango believes his current foam that saw him winning the ABSA league players Award of April, and being appointed as the Uganda National Team captain in the same month, will collectively motivate him in the straggle to end the season high by winning the league title with only two games to its climax.
The 31 years old Ugandan ace had a break after participating in the recent African Cup of Nations giving way to Kenedy mweene who took over his responsibilities at Mamelodi for a while.
On his return, Denis’s foam has been mounting to the best levels that made him grab April player of the Month after spending over 500 minutes without conceding, and his club climbed to league front positions, stiffing the competition for ABSA league championship.
After winning the African player of the year based in Africa in January this year and sealing off the April ABSA players Award, Denis, however, will use the motivation to guide his side to its third consecutive league title and the eighth in history.
According to the standings his Club lay second on the table behind rivals Bidvest Wits by only two points separating both teams, Denis will be vital in the two remaining fixtures with Maritzburg and Highlands as his side need maximum points.
Unfortunately, the Brazillians will not be crowned unless their title contenders slip in either of the two remaining fixtures.
