The Commissioner of Parliament, who is also the interim leader of the Democratic Alliance, Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, has cautioned voters, particularly those from the Buganda region, to vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
He emphasized the importance of selecting leaders who can amplify the voices of the people in Buganda, rather than those who reach leadership positions and remain silent.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony for William Mabike, the son of former Makindye East legislator Michael Sseninde Mabike, at his residence in Kansanga, Makindye Division, Mpuuga expressed sympathy for the voters of Makindye East for electing a legislator who cannot voice a single word on the floor of Parliament.
Mpuuga appealed to the former legislator of the area, Michael Mabike, to rise up and bridge the gap in the coming election so that the voice of Makindye voters can be heard again.
According to Mpuuga, the people of Uganda, especially in Buganda, need leadership and representation, which many legislators who were elected during the wave of 2021 have failed to provide. He added that he and other leaders who believe this country deserves better will help provide guidance on the choice of leaders with whom voters should align.
To the graduate, Mpuuga asked him to be a responsible person as he embarks on a new journey in life
This function attracted a number of dignitaries including ,leaders of the Democratic Alliance like Dr Abed Bwanika current and former members of parliament and others.
